JVA Turva -mobiilisovellus on työkalu työturvallisuuden parantamiseen, kehittämiseen, ja ylläpitämiseen. Sovelluksen avulla työtapaturmien ennakoiminen ja ehkäiseminen helpottuu ja raportoiminen käy vaivattomammin. Sovelluksen tietokanava tavoittaa nopeasti ja pitää käyttäjänsä ajan tasalla kätevästi kaikkialla.

What is the main purpose of your app?
The purpose of the application is to improve and develop the safety culture of Jyväskylän Vuokra-asunnot Oy (JVA). The target group is the companys staff, customers and visitors.
The application has an SOS message feature for staff, customers and visitors. With an SOS message, the user can tell other users of the application as well as the security service that they need help. The SOS message contains the senders GPS location. The application is only distributed in Finland.

Why does your app need access to location in the background?
In order to work properly with the security service, the SOS message feature of the application needs constant positioning. The application also needs access to location information in the background so that the security service can deliver assistance to the right place even when the application is not active. The application sends continuous location information only to the security service.
